Overview

Youngstown Oxygen & Welding Supply partnered with Porter Foundations for the design and installation of four structural concrete piers to hold 80,000 lbs of large Helium steel tanks. Porter was a great fit for the specifications of the job. First, these tanks needed to rest on four piers 50′-0″ apart, and each pier received its own digital scale. There were aesthetic requirements too, which Porter achieved, including the visual effect of absolutely no shims and no grout under the scale bearing.

The result was four piers of equal elevation with zero tolerance, and the final product was delivered with complete satisfaction.

After setting very large helium tanks, which required zero tolerance due to digital tank scales, tank installers were amazed the perfection of elevations of four Porter Foundation’s structural piers. No use for metal shims or grouting that created an aesthetically pleasing feature to our project.
