Porter Company has been serving the commercial industry since 1985. Although their general contracting history has primarily served Northeastern Ohio, Porter specializes in the construction of concrete machine foundations, concrete grade beams, and press pits for the industrial metal fabrication industry throughout northeastern United States. Established in 1985, Porter expanded their general contracting business by constructing large concrete foundation holding tanks for General Motors. Additional concrete forming projects included waste water treatment plants (New Waterford, and the City of Warren). Local engineers and architects refer Porter Company as “The Form Contractor” when recommending foundation specialist to construction managers and owners.

Dave Porter Sr. and Dave Porter Jr. founded D.J. Porter Company, general contractor 30 years ago based on the core values of teamwork, integrity, and commitment. Today, the company has expanded and added to their successful resume Porter Foundations LLC. Porter has installed a wide range of structural foundations throughout their General Contracting history, and because every anchor bolt was set with the care of a first born, the Porters earned the reputation of Concrete Machine Foundation specialist. The company’s management and employees upholds its founder’s vision to provide valuable services to clients, build partnerships in the industry and deliver a quality product that will enhance their clients productivity.
The Porter’s take pride in giving owners and Engineers a quality product. Their history of general contracting and installation of many foundations allows their pricing to be very competitive.
The Porter Family’s insistence on quality of service, hard work, and responsiveness to clients needs remains the companies belief and has led to their success in a competitive industry. Additional success is the recent 2011 graduation of Tom Porter, Porter’s lead form carpenter, receiving a bachelor of Science from the school of architecture at Kent State University. Further education is another example of the company’s ability to address changing conditions and demands, find and serve diverse markets, and expand its services. These increased changes have resulted in the company to grow far beyond the founder’s dream.

Porter’s 20th century innovative feature is the ability to utilize the transformational building tool process, Building Information Modeling (BIM). With BIM, the company builds the project twice. The first time the project is built digitally (3D) using Revit Structures and Revit Architecture. This method allows every member of the building team to see a fully 3D detailed model of the project before ground is broken. The second time the project is built in the field, after construction activities are fully coordinated.
